blog.2coupleKate and Ryan’s wedding was all about the experience!

They guys got ready at Heimie’s Haberdashery in St Paul while the girls were at MAC at the Mall of America.

Kate and Ryan have a tradition of taking pictures of their feet. So, here’s a feet photo for you!

They have so much fun together and can’t help but smile.

Their ceremony was at St Thomas University’s chapel, which is amazingly beautiful.

On our way to the reception, we  stopped a few fun locations. Love this trashy garage. The contrast of the beautiful couple and the nasty, chipping paint make for dramatic photos.

We also stopped at a park as well. Classic.

317 on Rice Park is an amazing location for receptions. Kate’s attention to detail gave us a lot of details to photograph.

Livingroom style seating was created in one of the rooms: leather chairs, decorated with homemade pillows that matched the table linens and chair covers.

We couldn’t take a bad picture of these two. They always have fun together and it showed.

Kate & Ryan, What a joy it was to be a part of your day.

Duluth, 40 mph winds and 50 degrees. By everyone’s standards, it was a crummy day. But, we were blessed to be photographing Maggie and Mike. They were excited to be outside, on the beach, in the rain and wind, because they knew that this would be the results.

Details are just a part of who Maggie is. It is obvious that she loves fashion as well.

The next moment captured is during the prayer said before the ceremony began. I love the closeness of Maggie and Mike.

The natural lighting and high contrast are beautiful.

Maggie and Mike’s reception was at one of the most beautiful location. Greysolon Plaza Ballroom is Duluth’s Lafayette Country Club. It looks like Versailles’s Hall of Mirrors. Unbelievable.

This “guest book” tree is a completely unique idea. Maggie and Mike had their guests put a finger print in fall colors on the tree and sign their name below it.

Thanks, you two, for being willing to go with the flow. We can not wait to include these images in our portfolio! Beautiful.

Peterson Family

blog0003

The image above is perfect. The relationships are captured forever now. Snuggles and smiles and sweet looks of love.

The leaves were perfect for our shoot. I love the different ages of the Peterson children. The individual shots really capture each stage. A baby, reacting to encouragement and simply being entertained. A pre-schooler, curious, busy and silly, wanting adult approval, but still learning about being an individual. An oldest child, able to follow direction, but in need of someone who can coax out his personality when he is posed.

I love to photograph children in their own rooms. It tells us more about them. They are comfortable in their own space.

blog0009blog0010

Our main goal was to get a really great family photo. Weather and colors cooperated…and so did these spectacular children. What a joy it was to document the life of the Peterson family.

We had a blast with Pete and Tanya. The reason that it has taken me so long to blog is because there were so many great images that I couldn’t decide which ones to show. (Another reason is that we shot 14 weddings in 9 weeks as well as 6-10 portrait shoots each week this fall…needless to say, we’re busy!)

Here are just a few of the amazing details of the day.

The wedding party was full of energy, which made for some really fun group photos.

blog0034blog0015

Peter and Tanya met as children at this church. Their families became friends. It is a fantasy that many girls have…to already love your future-husband’s family.

Their exit included peeling out of the parking lot in this rockin’ car!

I didn’t include many dance photos, but I love this one of Tanya and her Dad. Perfect!
